The printer will install and will appear in your list of printers in the Printers & Scanners preferences. Most departmental Canons are model 4725/4735. Note, for the Canon Multi-function devices, you will need to know the model of the Canon for this step. For example, for a Canon 4735, type 4735 in the search field. To narrow the list, type the model number in the search field in the upper right corner. 
For example, PRINTCANON1-TE201-CANON would indicate a Canon printer located in TE 201.
That should be listed in the name field ( SERVER-ROOM#-MODEL). Select the software for the Make and Model of the printer. In the Use section, click Choose a Driver. When you select the printer, the Name and Location fields will fill automatically. To narrow the list, type the building and room number (with no spaces) of the room where the printer is located in the search field in the upper right corner, e.g. In the Default tab, select the printer you want to install. You may have to unlock the screen by clicking on the lock in the bottom left corner with your Mac Admin credentials. Below the printer list on the left side pane, click the symbol. In the app you are printing from, click File > Print, click the Printer. Open System Preferences by clicking the icon in the Dock or by clicking the Apple Menu and choosing System Preferences. Your printer might already be available if it is on the network or USB-connected. Before installing a Canon 4735 please go to Self Service and install the Canon Universal Printer Driver. How to add a network printer to your Mac:
Once it has installed (drivers included), print out a document to the network printer you have just connected to, to make sure you have successfully connected to that printer. Installing the printer to your PC may take a few minutes. Once you have found the printer you want to connect to, double click on it and a window will pop-up with the message of “Connecting to XXX on ”. Search for the printer in the entire law school directory by either Name, Location, Model, etc. In the next window, select “Find a printer in the directory, based on location or feature.”. Click on “The printer that I want isn’t listed.”. Select the second option in the window, “Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.”. Click on “Add a printer” located on the upper left hand side of the window.
